NEW COTW: Bury The Existence - Divinity's Devourment [New Song] (2012)

It's Tuesday, which means it's time for a new clip of the week.
This week's clip comes to you from the band "Bury The Existence" with their song Divinity's Devourment.

The first quality that drew me to this song was the melody. This is the kind of stuff that is so fresh to me, something that is other than a breakdown. This melody almost reminds me of a song that could be used in a video game or something. This song is heavy all the way through with a skull crushing breakdown near the middle/end of the song.

How is this band not signed? Be sure to pick up their EP entitled "Programming the Heros"
Defiantly support these guys!

NEW VIDEO REVIEW: Upon A Burning Body - Once Upon A Time In Mexico

YES, FINALLY SOME NEW MATERIAL! Thank you Upon A Burning Body! You seriously don't know how much I've been anticipating a new album. Yes, I know that this video came out 4 days ago and most of you have probably seen this, but I have a few things to say.

First Impression: Once Upon A Time In Mexico is a continuation of the bands "Mexican Mafia" style and it holds the theme for this music video and their whole new album (In stores in 4 days!). The video is a simple concept, boss texts (lulz) his hencemen that some moolah is wired. THis triggers the janitor with an iPhone (lulz) and the rest of the mafia members to meet up and load up. Mexican Mafia, fuck yes. One thing I love about this Mafia-esk style is that at all of their shows, they dress up like they do in this video. So fucking fly. Now, a little on the song.

This new song has everything I came to love UABB for; amazing growls, fun and active breakdowns, and a ton of energy. There is one thing I was surprised to hear though, a chorus backed by some clean vocals. Now, whenever any band nowadays adds clean vocals, people naturally freak out and unfortunately internet trolls are released from their cages. But I have to say, they are great! Maybe it's just because I love clean vocals mixed with growls? Anyways, bottom line, it works. This has in no way dropped my anticipation meter for this upcoming album. I do wonder if this was just a little clean vocals cameo type deal or will there be more in the album? We'll just have to wait and see.

BOUNCE!

Be sure to pick up Upon A Burning Body's new CD,
RED.WHITE.GREEN.
on 4/10. (fuck yea colors)

VIDEO: Dismember the Fallen - Overcoming Reality

Check these guys out. This song is called "Overcoming Reality" by Dismember the Fallen. I've known about these guys for a nice chunk of time now and let me say, they have defiantly gotten their game together. They used to have a girl singer in the band and I'm not saying she was a terrible singer, but simply put, she didn't fit with the genre of music these dudes wanted to play. But now, holy moly, LOOK AT THEM! These guys let the girl go and now they've spread their wings.

This song was one of the first songs I heard in awhile from them and let me say, wow. This track has it all when it comes down to what local bands SHOULD be putting out in order to gain a larger fan base. Heavy breakdowns, nice/nonautotunedtohell vocals, and more heavy breakdowns, Dismember the Fallen is on their way to something larger.

Keep on a lookout for their new CD release entitled "Moving In Dreamscapes," coming this Spring!

Are you DTF?

NEW ALBUM TEASER: Stick to Your Guns - "DIAMONDS"

That's right everyone! Mark your calendars because Sumerian officially announced STYG's new album entitled "Diamonds" which will hit store shelves March 27th, 2012!

With this awesome announcement STYG also released a new song from the upcoming release called "Bringing You Down." This song is available for purchase on iTunes right now!

I am so freaking stoked for this album. In my opinion, no other band puts as much heart into their music as STYG does. Their last release, "The Hope Division" was an amazing album that dedicated its meaning into finding the little hope that this world has to offer. This album was amazingly energetic and motivational. What this new trailer does is simple, it teases their fans with what looks to be another solid release from the band with the same heartfelt meaning as its predecessor.

I CAN'T STOP SAYING HOW STOKED I AM FOR THIS ALBUM. This band is truly inspirational in my life and should be in yours too. This little preview frantically sends chills down my spine. If you like music that actually has a meaning, then let Stick to Your Guns be your tour guide into the world of Hope.

This band has never disappointed. Ever.
Keep on the lookout for this album and get stoked.
Thank you so much STYG for continuing with your sound and purpose. I love you.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Obey The Brave - Live and Learn (Official Video)

What do you get when Blind Witness and Despised Icon mate? You get Obey the Brave.
I'm not sure how long they've been a band, but with ex. members of both Despised Icon and Blind Witness, I'm sure they gained attention real quick.

Leaded by Alex Erian, ex. vocalist for Despised Icon (RIP:(), Obey the Brave looks to be a fresh newcomer in the genre of Hardcore. With typical hardcore lyrics, the band's slogan speaks for itself.

"Not trying to reinvent the wheel.
We keep it simple. We keep it real."

Man, Alex went from super-paced metal to hardcore, I really like his voice. It's perfect for this type of hardcore. I wonder if we'll be hearing more of his metal side in new songs, or will he stick to this new style of hardcore. I also wonder whose influence (Despised Icon or BW) will shine brighter in the writing process. Anyways, on to the video.....

This video contains all the typical ingredients to make a pot of hardcore stew. From the gangster walking, to the stomps in the breakdown, and even to the pit bull, this video has it all. Is it anything new? Nope. But is it anything special? Yes. I'm so glad that Alex is making music again for he was defiantly one of my favorite vocalists of all time. And with ex shredders from Blind Witness, holy crap.

It is very safe to say that I and easily anyone who loves metal/hardcore is very eager to hear whats in store for Obey the Brave in the near future.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Born Of Osiris - "Follow The Signs"

Posted two days ago by their label Sumerian Records, comes another Born of Osiris music video! The song for this video, Follow the Signs, is off their latest album "The Discovery" which is by far one of my favorite albums of 2011.

What I like about this video is something you don't see very often in this genre, creativity. When was the last time you saw a ton of CG effects built from the ground up, to bring life to the subject matter of the song? Actually, the only music video I remember off the top of my head is "Sleepwalker" by Parkway Drive.

Anyways, this video takes the viewer on a crazy space-ritual type event that summons some entities down to Earth, only to destroy the cultists that summoned it. While the green screen shots of the band aren't that impressive, it still does add some better-ness to the video (I'm so sick of music videos of bands in warehouses or fields).

If you look at the lineup in the video, and you're not aware of the band changes, you might be saddened.  Born of Osiris has decided to part ways with Jason Richardson. Jason, from what I have seen, was the better of the two guitarists in the band (Lee Mckinney is still badass). I guess it was no hard feelings between Jason and the band, and shortly after he left BOO, he joined Chelsea Grin. BOO said on their Facebook that there was no hard feelings and they will become more creative, energized, and focused as a band as a result.

If you like this song, defiantly pick up "The Discovery," you will not be disappointed. This album is made up of some tech metal, awesome ambient synth, heavy breakdowns, and shear brilliance.

TUNE REVIEW: Float Face Down - 'Exitium Verum'

Before I say anything about the song, look at the bands name. Does this name give you chills of awesomeness or what. Still easily one of my favorites to date.

Anyways, on to the song. It's been awhile since I heard one of their tracks and to be honest I don't even remember what the song(s) were called! But when I flicked on this tune, I was ashamed I haven't listened to these guys more often.

This track is, how shall I put this, rad as hell. The beginning starts off with that fast riff then proceeds into a slow breakdown that immediately got my head nodding. Once the vocals came into play, they instantly reminded me of the lead singer of "The Bridal Procession" in their old EP 'Welcome to the Procession.' If you have no idea what I'm talking about, HERE is the link.

At 2:24 what more is there to say, it's thee breakdown of the song. That part where you can crowd kill your friends or windmill out the window of you car (haha). Then what happens after that moment? An awesome conclusion to the song that almost makes me imagine a ending to an epic movie. Dat guitar, yummy.

Overall this song is flippin cool. Keep on the look out for Float Face Down's new album "Exitium Verum" due out sometime Spring 2012.

Just look at these dudes, heavy.

ALBUM REVIEW: Attack Attack - "This Means War"

If you've been living under a rock, I think you'd like to know that Attack Attack! has a new album and it's pretty awesome.

If this is the first song you're hearing from their AA!'s new album, then this is basically the tone of the album. What sets "This Means War" apart from every other album of theirs, is the sound.

This time around AA!, accompanied by the fairly new positioned lead singer Caleb Shomo, has a more distinguished tone to their album. Caleb as AA!'s front man, ever since the release of their re-release of their album 'Attack Attack!', has brought a more edgy-hardcore feel to the band.

Yes, that's right, more hardcore/heavy riffs and breakdowns to satisfy your desires. With this element of heaviness added to the band, I'd say they broke away from the little-girl-hottopic-scene sound of their first album, and finally made a SOLID sound for themselves.

This Means War is an excellent release by AA! in the fact that it stays true to the clean + demonic vox of their genre, but also gives the listener a taste of the new AA!. Each track stands apart from the catchyness of the chorus, to the heavy-as-hell breakdowns, to the accompanied syth that has followed AA! since the start.

Oh and did I mention that they recorded this whole album by themselves with the help of Caleb's studio? Awesome, right!

Even if you aren't into clean vox, still give this one a try!

Attack Attack - This Means War - 8/10
